Classes

DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES

Students must have a minimum of two years previous training. Following an initial class, our faculty determines the placement of the student in either intermediate or advanced classes. All classes are accompanied by piano and held in our spacious studios. A 2-hour class is given every morning at all levels, Monday through Saturday. Ballet classes are also held in the afternoon and include pointe, variations and repertory. Jazz & Broadway Dance Theatre and Choreographic Workshops are taught in the afternoon. Rehearsals are scheduled on some evenings in preparation for the final performance.

FACULTY

Ballet: Oleg Briansky, Mireille Briane, Shir Lee Wu, Aram Manukyan, Jessie Hilf, Victor Lytvynov and others to be announced.

Variations classes from the repertory will be offered to advanced students in preparation for the student’s performance at the end of the summer session. Choreographic works will also be presented. Rehearsals for all projects will be posted accordingly.

We recommend that students attend three classes a day, and that they take instruction in all dance forms. However, students who wish to concentrate on one dance form are permitted to do so.

At the end of the four week session, parents are invited to attend classes on the last two days and the student performance in the Dance Theatre of Mount Holyoke College.
